The beginning of January hit a few weeks ago which smoothie was completely rotation as my breakfast of preference. In all honesty, I love smoothies all the time of your day during each season. Not only are smoothies delicious, however they give you the ability to pack a whole lot of nutrition into one cup. And that is something I really like!
This green smoothie was inspired by my visit to a restaurant in Grand Rapids, Michigan back November. 8 weeks later on and my content material calendar finally acquired an opening to talk about this smoothie plus my encounter in Michigan’s Beverage City! We’ll reach the smoothie goodness in a little bit but 1st, let’s chat everything GR.
I’m not likely to get into everything we do, but I will share some pictures and leave you with several favorite recommendations if you ever end up in GR!
2.) Make homemade pasta at The Local Epicurean ! Who understood that pasta making was such a breeze?! I learned how to make homemade ravioli stuffed with ricotta. It was easier than I possibly could have ever truly imagined! Liz and I were partners and laughed the entire time! That is a great few activity or something to do with a group of people! The best part? You get to take home everything you make!
3.) Enjoy lunch time at YOUR KITCHEN by Wolfgang Puck ! I got the poultry lettuce wraps and we distributed several pizzas. Everything I had formed was delicious and cooked to excellence. I’m confident arugula on pizza often wins me over!
4.) Drop by Wealthy Street Bakery for a treat! Check out this chocolates chip cookie you men. It had been outrageously chewy and thick and filled with just the right quantity of sweetness. Truthfully one of the best delicious chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had!
5. Have dinner at The Grove ! The drinks are delicious and the food is even better. I suggest taking pleasure in the tasting menu, where each part is huge and exciting. Bring the foodies in your daily life here! You will like it. Pictured above: roasted vegetables more than a pureed butternut squash. Also, do not forget to have the butterscotch pudding – it really is to pass away for!

This breakfast time was Astounding and all of the fantastic smoothies we attempted were delicious. Needless to say my favorite was the Green Apple Smoothie which inspired the formula I’m bringing you today!
This original green smoothie at San Chez contained yogurt, but I wanted my version to be dairy free so that everyone is able to appreciate it. I used almond milk and heart healthful avocados for the creamy texture. If you haven’t tried avocados in smoothies, you absolutely must!
I would recommend this smoothie for a light breakfast time or like a snack. If you are looking to allow it to be a full breakfast, add a scoop of your favorite protein powder.
I hope you love this glorious green smoothie as much as I do! In the event that you make it, be sure to tag #ambitiouskitchen on Instagram so I can easily see your creation!
Green Goddess Smoothie + a vacation to Grand Rapids, Michigan
1 1/4 glass unsweetened vanilla almond milk, plus more if necessary
1 organic apple, peeled and chopped
1 medium iced banana
1 tablespoon chia seeds
In a large high-powered blender, add in all ingredients and blend on high for 1-2 minutes or until all ingredients are well combined. If necessary, add in more almond milk to slim the smoothie. Makes 2 more compact smoothies.
I recommend using a sweeter apple such as Honeycrisp, Braeburn or Gala. If you prefer a less lovely smoothie, work with a green apple.
For addition protein, add a scoop of your preferred protein powder.
